Up for auction, a 1975 KING, EASTLAKE - ''SILVER FLAIR 1055T'' MODEL - LARGE BORE PROFESSIONAL Bb TRUMPET WITH A CUSTOM SATIN / POLISHED SILVER PLATED FINISH IN NEAR MINT CONDITION

I've been playing horns for 53 years, collecting and restoring them for 42 years.  Over those years I put together a nationally recognized trumpet/ cornet collection that topped out at 145 horns.  During the past four years I have substantially thinned out the herd and continue to do so.  All my horns are gig ready...cleaned, valves adjusted & aligned and with new corks & felts when necessary.

Here's a sweet example of an original issue Silver Flair 1055T...not to be confused with the current production 2055 that is a intermediate level, semi-pro horn.  The 1055 SF was introduced in 1964 and was considered one of the first true ''superhorns'' (along with the Getzen Eterna 900 Severinsen that also debuted in '64)...IMHO this top-of-the-line trumpet is about as good as it gets for a commercially built instrument!  Dizzy Gillespie owned 20 of them, never went on a gig with less than three in hand, and his famous upturned bell model is now on display at the Smithsonian.  Over the years I have owned 13 SF's and this is the last one to be released from my collection.  The trumpet is a fairly lightweight (2 lb. - 5.3 oz.) sizziling screamer that is open and free-
