Up for this auction is a @1964 (ser # 435xxx, all match) King 3B Silver-sonic trombone.  This horn is about as close to NEW as possible.  Every detail implies that it was not played very much at all.  The original owner reported that it was purchased in the mid-60s for junior high band, and played through high school, and nothing after that.  There has been no professional maintenance or repairs (none needed); and the original owner (and I) cleaned off any trace of fingerprints after each use with the anti-tarnish cleaning cloth.  THIS TROMBONE IS IN ORIGINAL CONDITION, IT HAS NOT BEEN REFURBISHED IN ANY WAY!  There is one tiny scuff on the right side of the bell where the sliding hand meets the bell, and I was told this was a class ring getting in the way.  The lacquer is perfect.  The slide action is flawless – I used slide cream and water (versus slide oil) – truly a joy to play.  The alligator coffin case looks and smells new, with locks and key, plush lining, and supple leather straps - absolutely no wear on the latches.  The case, original lyre, and ramrod are included, as well as the mouthpiece, a King 11 (the only component that looks ‘used’).  Also included is the rare Naugahyde vinyl-like shell for the outside of the case that King provided as an optional accessory.  The zipper is mostly ruined (probably because it wraps around the case so tightly) but the shell still functions well and most importantly protects the case from cosmetic damage.  This is
