*~* VINTAGE MARTIN COMMITTEE TRUMPET *~*
TheTrumpetShop.com is proud to offer this vintage 1946 (SN 161xxx) M bore original lacquer Martin Committee trumpet for sale, NO RESERVE auction.
As many trumpet enthusiasts know, the vintage Martin Committee is THE quintessential Jazz trumpet. It was played by many Jazz giants such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, Maynard Ferguson, Al Hirt, Blue Mitchell, and many others. Modern players like Chris Botti and Wallace Roney are extreme Committee enthusiasts, and for good reason. The horn plays like no other horn from any era. It is widely regarded that Renold Schilke himself was the chief designer of the Martin Committee, and worked with Martin until the mid-1960's. (Source: dallasmusic.org)
This trumpet for sale is an excellent-playing example of a M bore Committee. It's in very good condition, no dents or dings, with fast smooth valves, very good compression, excellent tone, intonation and response. This horn is free-blowing and extremely fun to play. Plus it gives you that classic Martin Committee sound that has yet to be duplicated.
This trumpet has been play-tested extensively in-house, as well as by ''Iron'' Mike Bogart, former lead for Tower of Power, NYC Jazz/Classical/recording artist Greg Rivkin, and former Mike Bogart playing partner Paul ''The Easton Assassin'' Paetzell, lead trumpet for Easton's premier soul band Joy
