Price : US $150.00
Chris-Kratt Imported Huttle Bb trumpet
Built in West Germany / Serial 87100
both brass and silver in one horn
This is no cheap horn, it has some weight to it. Shines and looks fantastic,
but there are the usual wear scratches and a couple rubbed areas, check pics.
I bought this almost 20 years ago at an antique store, but never played it. I was already out of school and not in band anymore but I liked the horn, it looked like a winner. I took it apart back then and oiled the valves and gave it some TLC, it mostly sat in it's case since. I've worked it occasionally but I suck now so I'm selling it to go from brass to bass guitar.
It sounds fantastic, bright, cheery just as any well built horn should be. Valves all still work. Corks pretty good.
Lead pipe slide, 2nd and 3rd valve slides pull out. 1st valve slide never pulled out for me. Im sure a shop can un-jam it for you.
Silver colored finger ring on 3rd valve slide incl.
Anton Konrad Huttl started his company in Grazlitz in 1877. The company advertised in 1913 that they had the largest most modern factory in Austria-Hungary and Germany.
In 1945, the company was Nationalized, and they relocated in South Wales. Huttl, had a factory one in Canada that closed down in the 1970's. Those horns, said ''Western Germany'' presumably Baiersdorf, Germany.
The Chris Kratt Instrument Company was an import business marketing Huttl instruments.
I'll throw in a new bottle of valve oil and slide grease to boot. (if i can I'll try to get the 1st
