Up for auction, a rare and pristine 1970 C.G. CONN, ELKHART - ''SUPER CONNSTELLATION'' MODEL 60B - MEDIUM LARGE BORE PROFESSIONAL Bb TRUMPET IN COLLECTOR GRADE CONDITION
I have been playing horns for 53 years...collecting and restoring them for 42. Over those years I put together a nationally recognized trumpet/ cornet collection that topped out at 145 horns. During the past four years I have substantially thinned out the herd and continue to do so. All my horns are gig ready...cleaned, valves adjusted & aligned with new corks & felts when necessary.
Here is a ''like new'', collector grade example of a model 60B Super Connstellation that IMHO ranks among the top three first generation ''superhorns'' developed in the 1960's...the other two being the Getzen Eterna 900 Severinsen and the King 1055T Silver Flair. While Getzen and King introduced their horns in 1964, the model 60B was still being developed at Conn and play tested by Buddy Childers and Gene Goe...it took until 1967 to enter production and was discontinued after 1972. From '67 through '70 the 60B was built at the Elkhart plant until it closed, and the last two years of production took place at the new Abeline facility. This trumpet is a pristine time capsule complete with its original professional double handled case, hea
