100 yr old / GAUTROT PARIS ALTO TROMBONE VG Condition

Price : US $229.50

This is a very old (I would estimate 90-100 years, based on a} stamp on bell for a medal in 1900, and b} general style) Gautrot of Paris alto trombone. Total length of assembled instrument from the back crook to the front crook in the slide (excluding the bumper) is right at 32 inches (81.3 cm); the bell diameter is 5 3/4 inches (14.6 cm). The outer diameter of the inner slide stockings is right about .504 of an inch (1.28 cm). The instrument is in overall very good condition- there are no signs of previous repairs. There are several very minor dents in the back crook (this is not a moveable slide); there is one small crease in the bell; there are a couple of moderately small dents on the end of the slide crook, one on the bumper. The slide, though sticky from needing servicing, seems in very good shape. Compression seems strong. The inner tubes are raw brass, and it appears that the stockings had a light plating that's about half worn off. Horn has no case or mouthpiece, and will be packed correctly.
