Here is a cool old Vincent Bach Mercury Model trombone. The New York 67 address and the serial number of 4093 date it to the early 1950s. The bell inscription reads: Mercury Model, Vincent Bach (signature) Corporation, New York 67, U.S.A. It has a single seam bell with the seam running the full length, just like the Stradivarius models. The bell flares to 7 inches. I believe it's the original lacquer and it has scratches and discoloring and is missing in spots. There are minor dings throughout and some evidence of dent repair in the bell stem and tuning slide. The slide works well. It has a fair amount of lacquer wear and there are some very small dings in the end bow. The inner tubes look very good and they don't have any plating wear. The bore size is .484 and this horn is very similar to the Stradivarius Model 6, but without the fancy nickel silver trim. It comes with an older, probably not original case that's in usable condition. The latches, hinges and handle are all good. The interior is good, but the mouthpiece holder is broken. Looks like there was some tape at the bottom edges where there is some wear. A great piece of Bach history!
