This is a Conn Model 16E Mellophonium Mellophone. The serial number is GA580081.  The bell measures 11'' in diameter and the horn is about 25'' in length. Auction includes a plastic cup trumpet type Mouthpiece and the original Conn Hard Case. 


This horn is in overall good condition and  I played it and it sounds good. The valves work well.  The tuning slides are all free.   The horn has some  scratches and  lacquer wear as you can see in the pictures. There are a few dents and 'dings' on the horn as you can see in the pictures. The leadpipe is bent slightly as you can see but nothing too bad (I have pointed to the leadpipe and the largest dent in the pictures).  The bell has some  scratches and dings and a couple smaller dents. You could have the denting on this horn smoothed or simply play it as is because they are not too bad.


The plastic cup mouthpiece is included and it is in good shape. Also includes the original Conn hard case in good functional condition, it has some worn covering inside and out  and could use cleaning but still  useable condition.  Please see pictures for condition and ask questions if needed. This will make a nice rare edition to your horn collection%
