Silver Burbank Benge Trumpet Large Bore late 60's
This brass is no longer for sale (sold on 2008-10-18)
Price : US $613.00
For your consideration... a silver plated Burbank Benge trumpet. This trumpet is large bore (0.468). It has been played for many, many years. It is not new. It is not an unplayed time-capsule or a trumpet for a museum. If that is what you are looking for, this is not it. That being said, the trumpet is a great player. It has a great tonal quality to it, both in the low and high register. The high register is very open blowing (my kind of playing). I regret having to sell this but I am short on cash and will continue playing with a different trumpet for the time being.
The Fine Details:
Silver plating is in great condition but could use a polish. Very straight, no dents or dings to mention. Leadpipe is clean. No signs of rot. All slides move freely. Pistons are in fine condition.
This trumpet is marked ''L'' on both sides of the valve casing. Leadpipe side has a small ''L''. Bell side is marked ''L'' immediately following the serial number. There is suspicion that this dual marking is a result from the valve section being from leftover Chicago stock. See http://www.musicbyjoelill.com/BurbankBenges.pdf serial number 7356 for reference.
The 2nd valve slide has a single pull knob vs. the familiar two knobs (I've seen this configuration on other Burbank Benges from late 60's, check the web,
