Besson Compensating Euphonium Baritone
This brass is no longer for sale (sold on 2008-09-09)
Price : US $78.00
This is a Besson Model 766 3 valve compensating euphonium. The serial #495260 dates it to around 1971. The bell is 11 inches across and it is 27 inches tall. The bore size is .580 and it is silver plated (I believe originally satin silver), and has the original euro shank receiver.
This euph has been well used, and it shows it. It is tarnished, has substantial plating loss and many dents, dings, and scratches. At some point in its life, it was a high school band instrument and it looks like it. The first and second valves show wear and pitting and should be replated. This instrument is a prime candidate for restoration. It does have a beautiful sound. All valves move fine. I applied very heavy oil to them to make sure they sealed when I play tested it, so they are very slow. The second and third valve slides do not move. It comes with a well worn wooden hard case.

Please realize this instrument will need a playing condition restoration by a competent brass repairman to put back into use. It will not be suitably playable out of the box.
I will not accept returns on this item. Paypal, money order or certified check only, please. Shipping is to the continental US only via insured UPS ground.
Thanks for looking.
