This is a Conn Model 16E Mellophonium Mellophone. The serial number is GJ850021.  The bell measures 11'' in diameter and the horn is about 25'' in length. Auction includes a Conn Mellophone Mouthpiece and Conn Hard Case. 


This horn is in overall good condition and  I played it and it sounds Wonderful! The valves work well.  The tuning slides are all free.   The horn has some  scratches and  lacquer wear as you can see in the pictures. There are a few smaller  dents and 'dings' on the horn as you can see in the pictures. The leadpipe is bent slightly as you can see and has a brass patch on it but nothing too bad.  The bell has some  scratches and smaller dents and wrinkles but again not that bad. You could do some cosmetic dent repair or simply play the horn as is. 


The Conn mouthpiece is included and it is in good shape. Also includes the original Conn hard case in functional condition, it has some worn covering inside and out and could use cleaning but still good useable condition.  Please see pictures for condition and ask questions if needed. This will make a nice rare edition to your horn collection!
