This is an interesting antique flugelhorn or cornet in Bb, modern pitch with european rotary clockwork-spring valves. It is marked AHLBERG & OHLSSON, STOCKHOLM, ETABL. 1850, KUNGL.HOFLEVERANTOR. The same mark appears on the valve support bracket, I couldn't get a reasonable image of that. The horn is nickel-plated, I believe the plating may be part of a restoration at some point in its history as there is a professional patch on the 1st valve slide that has been plated over. This is a nice very conical form with very little bell flare. Some light surface denting, overall pretty straight, evidence of solder repairs. All valves and slides are free, it seems to me that it plays pretty well. Please note, the number 3 valve lowers the pitch by a MAJOR 3rd, not a minor 3rd as is typical of modern instruments--makes for some different valve combinations. 2 of the knurled valve screws are replacements. Please view the images, a picture is worth a thousand words. This is nice and really interesting looking old flugelhorn that actually plays. Accepts a standard trumpet shank mouthpiece. Sorry, no case or mouthpiece with this. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases (saves $).
Buyer pays fixed rate $15 shipping to the US, international to be calculated. Payment by Paypal to be received within 10 days of auction end.
